Spring feeling to our web site!

We have marked the new season of fresh lambs with an appropriate colour - we hope our regular visitors agree?! We have been spending some time photographing the new lambs and enjoying this magical time of year. It is always wonderful to watch new lambs being born and, over the next week or two, we shall feed images and video onto our breed pages.

A little help for our sheep breeders

Again, we have been pleased to send funds based on annual sales of carpet to both the Herdwick and Swaledale Sheep Breeders Associations. In both cases there was a good increase over the previous year.
This can only happen because you, our customers, believe in our products and share our determination to do a little bit to help our farmers keep their vital tradition going.
Last year, the Herdwick SBA used their money to help support the training of a new shepherd - what better could we hope for..? This year, they will use it for the production of a new DVD to promote the characteristics of the breed.
In the case of the Swaledale SBA, they will spend their money for the second year running on taking their promotion and sales vehicle to the four or five prominent breed shows in Northern Ireland, Scotland and England.

We have collected comments and opinions of our customers and interior designers and formulated some of our own and can confidently state that:

Our Graphite colour palette takes on the hue of colours on your walls and furniture and everything else you have in the room - something which a beige will not do. This means that you can decide to paint a wall warm purple or cool blue, if you want, and not be concerned about the effect on the carpet. The sheep's fleeces are made up of many natural shades of warm and cool greys which take on the reflected hue of your decor and complement it. Magic!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for keeping us very busy this year with orders and enquiries. We have had considerable interest in all our products and thoroughly enjoyed helping to cover floors all over the country with Herdwick and Swaledale wool. We are pleased to note that our contribution to the respective Sheep Breeders' Associations will be well up on last year.

In turn, we have appreciated the many cards and kind comments that have come through thanking us for our personal service and for providing carpets that are clearly loved!

Next year, we shall continue to encourage more enthusiasts for natural wool carpets that buying direct from us is a safe and sure way to get good value for money.

In the meantime, we wish all our existing customers and the many potential ones holding samples a very merry Christmas and a Happy 'Swalewick' New Year. John & Sally

Carpet samples for Grand Designs visitors

We have done our best to ensure that samples requested have been sent out. It is, however, inevitable that there are one or two mismatches of information and so we have not been able to complete them all.

Therefore, if you feel that you have not got your samples or the correct ones, please accept our apologies and make contact. We shall try to do better!

We are in the process of following up enquiries and do understand that some projects are medium or long term. We do want to be in a position to supply the ones that are more short term and are trying to maintain stocks according to best information available so that we can react when needed.

Follow up to Grand Designs Live

Firstly, John, Sally and Ian would like to thank all the many visitors to our stand over Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We received many complimentary comments about the value of using natural wool in the way we do and the importance of helping our upland farmers.

We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly talking to everyone and are happy to report that we were inundated with enquiries for all our products, from single rooms right through to whole house projects. It doesn't matter whether the requirement is for delivery in 10 days or 2 years - we are most keen to use our direct approach to work with all our clients and their various needs.

We shall acknowledge all our visitors personally and attend to all urgent orders and sample requests appropriately as soon as ever we can.

We're delighted to launch our brand new website. This site allows us to show you more pictures and offer you a much broader range of information about us and our products. On the right hand side of the site you will see an events diary section which will keep you up to date with our exhibition and show appearances. We're always thrilled when people come and say hello.

We're also poised to launch our Facebook page and would be delighted for you to follow us into Social Media land. That will be ready in time for our appearance at this year's Grand Designs show in Birmingham from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th October.

Don't forget that we are always happy to send samples of our products directly to you. So do get in touch if we can be of any assistance.
